Library Intern

Gloucester City Library now has a paid librarian intern opportunity for current library school student or recent MLIS/MLS graduate.

Description: The intern will get hands-on experience on daily public library services including but not limited to answering reference questions, assisting at the Front Desk, helping with computer lab, developing library collection, and more. The candidate needs to be tech savvy to be able to help patron with using e-resources, library devices, and computer related questions. Evening and weekend shifts are required. About 16 working hours per week. 

Requirements: Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills; knowledge of current trends in library services; Team-work spirit to work with other co-workers; strong awareness and interest in learning and implementing current library technologies. Current MLIS/MLS students who have completed most credits or recent graduate are encouraged to apply. 

Compensation: $15.00 per hour. 

Preferred Start Date: Immediate. Duration: 3 – 12 months.
