Position Summary

The College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (UL&LS) is seeking a full time Library Info Specialist 3 with strong customer service experience, proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, and interest in learning new skills. We seek someone who is enthusiastic about working in an active environment doing a wide variety of tasks. The current vacancy is in the Zimmerman Library, Resource Sharing unit, and is part of the Access Services group.

This position provides time-sensitive library services to UNM faculty, students, and staff. It involves processing requests for loans and scans, verifying and correcting citations, and searching and ordering using an integrated library system, databases, and interlibrary loan software. Problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex citations, are required along with the ability to ensure that library policies and procedures are followed. This position will also train and supervise student employees. The position involves physical activity including, but not limited to, pulling books and bound journals from shelves, lifting boxes, opening mail, sorting materials, and moving book trucks.

The Resource Sharing team plays a vital role in supporting the teaching and research missions of the University of New Mexico (UNM) by processing over 40,000 requests in a typical year.

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience providing interlibrary loan services, including citation verification using multiple databases, and OCLC/Rapid request processing.
  2. Experience with staff-side ILLiad and/or OCLC interlibrary loan software.
  3. Demonstrated successful customer service experience.
  4. Experience with providing reference services.
  5. Experience working independently with limited supervision.
  6. Demonstrated good time management skills.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to working effectively and collegially in a team-based environment within a diverse campus community.Campus: Main - Albuquerque, NM
