Library Associate, Children's Services

Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hour per week position, requiring alternating Fridays and Saturdays and one evening per week. Salary: $22.00 per hour

Position Summary: Responsible for in-library and outreach programs and providing reference and reader's advisory services. Participates in library materials selection and collection maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years' experience in a public library (Children's Services preferred) or two or more years of experience working directly with children and families. Proficiency in Spanish required.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability: Demonstrated ability to work with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a wide variety of people. Considerable knowledge of children's literature and child development. Computer literacy.

Physical Requirements: Requires valid CT driver's license and ability to conduct community outreach programs.
