Position Summary

The Library Assistant III-Resources and Systems supports the UIW Libraries by performing a range of duties related to the setup, maintenance, and updating of library content resources and systems and related data and budget records, including assisting with associated technical problem-solving. This position requires the use of systems and software applications to perform detailed records, content, and budget management work and associated problem solving. The Library Assistant III-Resources and Systems reports to the Coordinator of Systems & Licensing.

Description of Job Duties

  • Verify and update online resources access and coverage in library management system, library content management platforms, and vendor content sites.
  • Coordinate with library staff, library users, and content and system providers to investigate and resolve online resources access and linking issues.

Description of Job Duties

  • Maintain library resources order and invoice records in library records management systems and communicate with vendors on discrepancies or errors.
  • Monitor library resource payment statuses in university accounts system, update library records management systems, and communicate with accounts payable on discrepancies or errors.
  • Maintain and update library resource budget expenditure records; provide updates and reports as needed to library management.Job Duty Name Records and Usage Data Management and Analytics

Description of Job Duties

  • Compile usage data from library vendors and library management system to maintain and update library resources usage database.
  • Report updates and changes to statistics standards from vendors.
  • Create and compile library resources records bibliographic and related data for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Analyze bibliographic and related library resources data using various metrics for internal library reports and department accreditation reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks requiring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong skills in working with and manipulating data records.
  • Comfortable with working with computer systems, learning software applications, and navigating Websites.
  • Ability to work with and safeguard confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

  • Bachelor's Degree OR
  • 90 credits hours and 1 additional year of required work experience.Required Work Experience

Three (3) years of cumulative experience in one or more of the following functional areas:

  • Systems and technical support
  • Order and invoice processing with budget tracking
  • Records and usage data management and analytics.Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working as a library technician in a public or academic library.
  • Bachelor's Degree with some coursework in library or information science or with systems.
  • Experience working with library research and online databases.
  • Experience troubleshooting user technical support issues.Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
