We are looking an innovative and community-focused librarian supervisor who desires variety, challenge, and growth in their career, available to serve the residents of a geographically large, rural county in central California. Apply now to be considered for our current and future openings.

Librarian III is a working supervisor overseeing a major division or region of the Library including supervision of employees doing work of a diverse nature.

Librarian IV is a working supervisor and manager overseeing the operation of the Main Library or system-wide services including supervision of employees doing work of a diverse nature.

Our team is working toward making Tulare County Library a leading example of what rural libraries can accomplish.  The Tulare County Library System with branch libraries in seventeen communities including the Main Library in Visalia, is a member of the San Joaquin Valley Library System (SJVLS), a cooperative network of ten public library jurisdictions in six counties in California's central valley.

Requirements

Tulare County Library is looking for someone excited about the library profession as we are. A customer focused individual dedicated to what works while embracing innovative and create change that meet the needs of our communities. 

Minimum qualifications:

An American Library Association accredited MLIS or equivalent required with the following required experience:

Librarian III (Supervisory)-Three (3) years or more

Librarian IV (Manager)- Five (5) years or more

Experience with managing and supervising a large branch library and system-wide programs and services.
