In this dynamic position, you will:

  • Lead evening operations for the Hicks Undergraduate Library, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education Library, and the Library of Engineering and Science
  • Coach, mentor, and delegate work to support staff, fostering a culture of excellence
  • Collaborate with the Lead Operations Manager to enhance operational efficiency across multiple libraries
  • Evaluate staff performance and contribute to key personnel decisions
  • Set priorities and balance workloads to maintain high standards of user service
  • Serve as the first point of contact for facility and service inquiries, ensuring prompt resolution

This is an evening position (M-F, 3pm-midnight) which offers a competitive salary of $53,800 - $74,800, with exact compensation determined based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must provide a cover letter to be considered for this position.

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in customer service and supervision.
  • Library experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Skills needed:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and have strong service orientation.
  • Capable of sound judgement and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive communications with employees.
  • Capacity to work effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Windows-based computer skills.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with libraries and library functions.What We Would Like You to Know :
