The University is currently seeking a Librarian Assistant to assist the school community with both academic and informational issues and effectively managing an enriching educational environment for students, professors, and staff.

KEY AREAS:

Management of the AU Library and the Information Resources (L&IC) The management and strategic planning of the AU Library and the Information Resources The provision of an effective Library Service physical and online Management of the Onboarding Process

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:

LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES

Management of the Library and the Information Center (L&IC) Strategic, planning and development of the service and products Responsible for the supervision of the library persona Responsible for the day to day running of the AU Libraries Responsible for the introduction, monitoring, review and evaluation of all systems and procedures associated with the libraries and information resources. Responsible for the general appearance of the libraries and to maintain an atmosphere conducive to study. Consult regularly with the Dean, Faculty Director, and the Academic Team about the requirements, policies and regulations related to information resources. Adding, updating, and managing physical and online information resources Instruct students, professors, and staff in the use of the libraries and other resources. Leading the strategy for students in the use of the libraries Leading the technical processing, shelving, maintenance, and organization of resource materials Create support materials for students and staff with special reference to the identified subject areas. Deliver study skills sessions for research and presentations (by appointments) Deliver courses and presentations to students dealing with relevant issues such as academic honesty, research skills, etc. Evaluate, devise, collate, and produce statistical information and reports for use by management. Help with the administration of Academic Survey Process To always act in accordance with AU policies, e.g., Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities. To support the AU’s Equal Opportunities Policy which promotes the inclusion of students with learning difficulties and disabilities across the University. Any other duties of a comparable nature as required.

ONBOARDING PROCESS Manage, plan, develop and evaluate the Onboarding process of all future students enrolled at Atlantis University. Develop the Onboarding process for all future professors hired at Atlantis University.

Education/Qualifications:

EDUCATION-EXPERIENCE

Master Degree

Library experience in academic background desirable Bilingual (English – Spanish) Ability to take ownership of the library space and make it an exciting and engaging place to learn Experience of supporting students with learning or development Methodical approach to work Confident IT user, who can access databases, use Microsoft Windows suite, and Google platform. Ability to be pro-active and display initiative Willingness to learn and acquire new skills Organizational skills and management of resources Ability to present information in appropriate formats according to audience and fit for purpose Willingness to accept additional responsibilities Demonstrates understanding and commitment to supporting the AU to meet its targets for success Good people skills, both verbal and written Evidence of problem-solving decision-making skills A professional and supportive collaborator who enjoys effective collaboration with colleagues Ability to work core hours of college with flexibility for cover for other members of the support staff team.
