Wheaton College is looking for its next Instruction & Design Librarian! With this role we are looking to strengthen the coordination of instructional design and assessment for our digital and informational literacy fluency efforts. There is space and support in this role to explore your interests and to grow alongside the college’s new curriculum, major offerings, and initial graduate-level programs. We are seeking a candidate with a background or interest in supporting the Sciences & Mathematics division of the college, including our new nursing major. This position requires regular on campus presence for teaching and consultation purposes and offers options for a partially remote schedule.

Reporting to the Director of Research and Instruction within Library Services, the Instruction & Design Librarian acts as a liaison to the Sciences & Mathematics Division of the college. The librarian will create equitable, student-centered, and integrated learning experiences for students in partnership with colleagues in R&I.

The librarian facilitates use of information in research, teaching, and learning through collaborative relationships with faculty and peers. They teach in a variety of modalities: one-shot instruction sessions, embedded course support, video recordings, asynchronous learning modules, and student consultations.

The librarian also designs and conducts assessments of the library’s instruction program; integrates information literacy instruction into digital learning spaces; and designs and implements plans to improve the overall student experience with Canvas and other academic technologies.
