The University of Puget Sound is hiring a Humanities & Languages Librarian to join our Library Department! This position reports to the Associate Director for Public Services and is part of a dedicated team of librarians focused on providing teaching, reference, and research services. The position combines reference and research consultations ; curriculum-embedded information literacy instruction to undergraduate students; outreach to faculty and students; and participation in team-based projects. The position focuses on disciplines and interdisciplinary fields that emphasize humanistic modes of inquiry.

  • Temporary positions that work at least .50 FTE (1,040 hours per year) will be eligible for benefits.


Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $28.05 per hour. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements


To be considered for this role, a candidate must have:

  • Master's degree in Library/Information Science.
  • Undergraduate degree or extensive coursework in a world language.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the information resources, information needs, and methods of inquiry in the humanities, languages, and interdisciplinary area studies.
