Description

The CSU Libraries is hiring for the position of Head of Resource Sharing. This position provides strategic, flexible, and creative leadership for a user-oriented team extending resource sharing to the CSU community and beyond through interlibrary loans, course reserves, and document delivery services. The Head of Resource Sharing is responsible for defining department goals and adapting staffing plans and workflows in response to changing patron needs, technologies, and trends in the field. This position collaborates across the library and will need to build and maintain strong working relationships with Collection Strategies, Library Technology Services, and our resource sharing partners around the world.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited institution or international equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience using interlibrary loan or document delivery systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects, assess impacts, and resolve complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in interlibrary loan, on-demand acquisitions, controlled digital lending, and U.S. copyright law related to libraries.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and implementing innovative changes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice and how they relate to the mission of the Libraries.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The position may be hired at Assistant or Associate Professor rank. For Associate Professor rank, a record of professional accomplishments supporting minimum appointment at the rank of associate professor for Continuing and Contract Faculty (non-tenure track). See Libraries Faculty Code.
