Head of Metadata Services and Strategies

Smith College Libraries is looking for a dynamic leader to provide both strategic vision and hands-on expertise in a small, collaborative team environment. Reporting to the Director of Collections, Discovery, and Systems, you’ll manage the Cataloging and Metadata Services unit, spearhead the creation and maintenance of high-quality metadata for our general collections, and actively champion inclusive and innovative practices.

As a key member of the Managers’ Team, you’ll collaborate with the Head of Collection Strategies and others to align metadata operations with our library’s strategic objectives. From implementing metadata standards to engaging in cross-functional projects, you’ll drive impactful initiatives that promote diversity, enhance discovery, and foster a welcoming environment for all.
