Overview:
As our Finance Associate, you will earn $23.00 - $27.00 per hour depending on qualifications. This part-time position requires you to work 15 hours per week. The Finance Associate plays a crucial role in reconciling bank data, purchasing office supplies, and entering journal entries. Strong interpersonal and technology skills are essential. Responsibilities include accurately recording library data and financial transactions. If you excel at tracking credit card purchases, preparing correspondence, and providing exceptional customer service to both staff and patrons, we’d love to have you on our team.

What You’ll Do Every Day:
Prioritize, organize, and complete tasks within specified timeframes.
Process manual financial transactions, including invoices, deposits, expenses, and journal entries, ensuring proper coding to relevant accounting codes.
Proactively identify and implement finance and data entry solutions.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records, including invoices, deposits, contracts, and necessary documentation for transactions.
Prepare and generate two monthly board reports: the check approval list and the credit card transactions report.
Handle electronic payments and financial transactions.
Review vendor contracts to ensure favorable terms and best pricing for the Library.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, complete projects efficiently, and manage data entry tasks with accuracy and speed.
Manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Keep thorough and accurate documentation and files, adhering to Library policies and standard accounting practices.
Establish and manage vendor files, both new and active.
Collect vendor W-9 forms and oversee the annual 1099 process.
Assist with annual audits, year-end financial reporting, and FOIA requests.
Utilize relevant technologies such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks to support administrative functions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Previous experience in accounts payable or local government is preferred.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate and interpret spreadsheet data.
High accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent data entry skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Team-oriented with a strong track record of customer service.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with peers and supervisors.
