Job Summary Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track eResources Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty position in the University Libraries with a preferred start date as early as May 2025. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia, and will work within the Resource Strategy and Management Unit of the KSU Libraries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of electronic resources and print serials, including access, maintenance, and end-user support.
  • Coordinate with library colleagues to optimize discovery of continuing and electronic resources through the library’s discovery system and other venues as appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot access problems related to continuing and electronic resources.
  • Run semester harvest of ISBN loads and complete other metadata maintenance projects as necessary to facilitate the discovery of library resources.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with KSU units, departments, centers, etc. that support student and faculty research efforts and eResources. Support university research teams’ activities and initiatives.
  • Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship, eResources, and discovery.
  • Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession.
  • Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

Because our libraries are open 7 days a week and in the evenings, this position will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. This position will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Required Qualifications

An earned terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related equivalent terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Demonstrated experience or coursework in the maintenance of library eResources

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an academic library Familiarity with EBSCO Connect and Holdings and Link Management (HLM) Familiarity with Library Management Systems (LMS) such as Alma or FOLIO Experience in a transition of Library Management Systems Experience in maintaining effective relationships, working collaboratively, and being on a team Strong project management skills and attention to detail Strong skills in critical thinking, follow-up, and investigation relating to eResources
