Job Description
At UNR Med, we are dedicated to advancing healthcare through education, research, and community service. As part of our commitment to innovation and excellence, we are seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as the Savitt Medical Library Director.
The Savitt Medical Library Director at UNR Med plays a vital role in advancing our mission by providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to the Savitt Medical Library. This individual will oversee all aspects of library operations, including collection development, information services, technology integration, strategic planning, budget administration, personnel management, policy formulation, facilities planning, and user experience enhancement.
As a medical school, UNR Med requires a director who supports all of our institutional missions - research, patient care, education, and community engagement. The Director will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and strategic partners to promote evidence-based practice, information literacy, scholarly communication, and research support services. Additionally, the Director will cultivate partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance resources and services offered by the library.
The Savitt Medical Library supports the students, residents, fellows, faculty and staff in the following programs: Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Sanford Center for Aging, and Speech Pathology & Audiology.
The Savitt Medical Library currently has three locations. The main Savitt Medical Library is on the UNR campus. There are currently two satellite libraries:
The Savitt Medical Library will shortly be opening a third satellite library, also in the Renown Regional Medical Center. This will be in the center of the hospital and will serve all Renown employees and all UNR students, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff located at the Renown Regional Medical Center.
In addition to the Director, there are currently five library faculty members and four staff members.

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate.
