Job Summary:

The Library Creative Studios Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the creative spaces of the SWOSU Library. In coordination with library faculty, the Coordinator schedules and organizes workflows to ensure the efficient and successful completion of creative projects. The Coordinator also maintains and troubleshoots the library's audiovisual devices and equipment, as well as devices and equipment utilizing additive and subtractive processes. Acts as a resource for the Al Harris Library and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides support in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Manages the daily operations of the library's creative spaces, including the use of equipment and the monitoring of supplies.
  • Efficiently and promptly processes users' requests to use the library's creative spaces, including the scheduling of projects.
  • Provides users with point-of-need training on equipment and application use.
  • Trains and supervises student library employees as required.
  • As a core component of the creative spaces' workflows, organizes and maintains the storage of creative project digital work files.
  • Creates end user-focused training materials to assist library creative spaces users.
  • Performs maintenance and troubleshooting for the library's creative equipment and applications.
  • Assists with planning for new or upgraded equipment and/or applications.
  • Participates in the development of procedures, guidelines, and policies affecting the operation of the library's creative spaces.
  • Maintains statistics and provides summary reports as required on the utilization by students, employees, and community members of the library's creative spaces.
  • Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor.

  • Ability to work with, assist, lead, and take directions from others in the interest of operating the Al Harris Library to its optimal efficiency

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working in creative spaces and/or knowledge of creative technologies, with a focus on enhancing student learning and faculty pedagogy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Experience using creative spaces equipment and devices, and the initiative to effectively learn new technologies and processes through formal and informal training
