DESCRIPTION:

The Hunterdon County Library (HCL) is seeking community focused leader for the HQ Library Community Library Services Department. The HQ Library Community Library Services Department customizes services for local surrounding communities, recognizing that each library is serving communities with different needs and interests. The CLS department also focuses on outreach and building relationships and partnerships with local organizations and businesses in the surrounding communities, thereby increasing the impact each library can have.

The Hunterdon County Library System consists of two regional libraries, one small satellite library, a mobile bookmobile and ongoing support to six affiliated libraries within the County of Hunterdon. The library is also a member of the MAIN Library Alliance, a consortium of 49 public libraries.  The current staff consists of over 60 full and part-time employees. REQUIREMENTS:

• A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.
• Three (3) years of librarian experience.
• Appointees are required to possess a valid certification as a Professional Librarian issued by Thomas Edison State University.
• Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
• Applicant must comply with the “NJ First Act.”
• Appointee may be required to possess a valid driver's license
• Initial appointment provisional pending Civil Service procedure.
• 35 hours/week, including some nights

COMPENSATION

Starting Salary: $73,768

SCHEDULE

• Monday          1:30pm to 9pm
• Tuesday          9am to 5pm
• Wednesday    9am to 5pm
• Thursday        9am to 5pm
• Friday             9am to 5pm
