This position provides a variety of administrative and operational support to Gingrich Library. The incumbent shares responsibility for core public services such as interlibrary loan, frontline services, and managing library student assistants. Other tasks include ongoing digitization projects for the Archives, retrieving material from (or returning it to) the offsite storage facility (Annex), and general office oversight. Works independently and uses effective communication skills with tact and diplomacy in dealing with patrons.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Responds to patron needs for library services and basic information.
  2. Hires, trains, and supervises students for a variety of library services including frontline public service, social media posts, and collaborative programs.
  3. Prepares ingoing and outgoing material for interlibrary loan.
  4. Oversees the accurate transfer of books to and from the Annex.
  5. Monitors library and archives collections in the Annex for safety and preservation concerns.
  6. Has primary responsibility for processing library serials and incoming mail.Other Job Functions:
  7. Shares responsibility for library outreach to the campus and on social media.
  8. In conjunction with library staff, develops or leads library exhibits and displays.
  9. Works with library staff on digitization projects such as the Cue and honors theses to increase their visibility and accessibility.
  10. Participates in the statewide chat-monitoring service.
  11. Compiles and updates library manuals and libguides.
  12. Attends training sessions as required.
  13. Participates in campus wide committees as appropriate.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications/Prerequisites:

COMMUNICATION

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of library workEMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

Library experience is preferred.

Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's Degree
