Children’s Services Associate Position

River Forest Public Library

Part Time: 

12-14 hours/week: includes 2-3 weekend days a month, and Mondays 9-1pm, Fridays 9-5pm.

Status: Non-exempt 

Salary: $16.61-$19.54/hr.

Description: Do you love working with children and have a passion for libraries? The River Forest Public Library is looking for a creative and friendly individual to join our collaborative and fun Children’s Services team! This part time position works with the Manager of Children’s Services and other staff to provide library services such as reference help, readers’ advisory, technology assistance, and the planning and delivering of quality programming to children ages birth-4th grade and their caregivers.

Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree or LTA preferred.
• Experience working with children ages birth – 4th grade.
• At least 1 year of related library experience preferred.
• In addition to assigned daytime shifts, must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
