Tyngsborough Public Library is looking for a Children's Librarian to engage lifelong learners in our community. The ideal candidate has a talent for connecting with children and their caregivers, a passion for children's literature, and a fun, dynamic energy. The Children's Librarian is responsible for leading storytimes, organizing events and activities that appeal to kids of all ages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Foster a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for children and caregivers. Plan and lead engaging programs for children from birth to 5th grade and their caregivers. Connect with community members to extend library services beyond the building. Develop and maintain the children’s collection. Offer thoughtful, individualized reader’s advisory and reference services. Continually consider opportunities for growth in the Children’s Room.

Qualifications

Current MLS candidate; MLS degree from an accredited institution; and/or 2-3 years related experience in children's services or an equivalent combination of experience and education. 2-3 years in front-facing customer service.
