The Town of Plainville, Connecticut in Hartford County is currently seeking a dedicated, forward-thinking, and collaborative leader for the position of full-time Assistant Director of the Plainville Public Library. Salary is $68,000 -73,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Generous benefits package is included.  This is a non-union position with the option of a four-day work week.

The Assistant Director assists the Library Director in the planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the operations, programs, personnel, and services of the library. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director and library staff to execute initiatives laid out in the Library’s recently-launched strategic plan.

Education and experience desired are a Master’s Degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience; at least five years of increasingly responsible experience in the library profession; and supervisory experience.
