Oklahoma State University Library is seeking applicants for the position of Archives Specialist. This position will report directly to the Special Collections/Congressional Papers Archivist and work alongside another Archives Specialist. The Archives Specialists will be rehousing, arranging, and describing congressional papers and conducting other necessary tasks. This position is full-time staff for a term of approximately 4-1/2 years and will be part of Special Collections and University Archives.

The Special Collections at Oklahoma State University is home to several congressional collections spanning over 1,500 linear feet and 5 terabytes of material. The Archives Specialists will serve a vital role in processing and making accessible these collections for research.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a field related to archival work (e.g. history, political science, public history, museum studies) OR experience working in an archive.

Attention to detail and excellent organization skills. Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with assessing, arranging, and describing archival collections in accordance with DACS. Knowledge of current archival best practices and standards. Experience with ArchivesSpace or other archives collection management systems.
