Adult Services Coordinator

The Elm Grove Public Library is seeking an experienced librarian to fill the position of Adult Services Coordinator. This position has a role in the library’s leadership team and is a key member of the staff.

Elm Grove is a beautiful village in eastern Waukesha County, with a lovely park, pond and walking trails immediately outside the library’s front door. The library lies less than a half hour from downtown Milwaukee.

Responsibilities include: providing reference, reader’s advisory and computer assistance to patrons at the reference desk; performing collection development; serving as the interlibrary loan (ILL) contact for staff; developing in-library displays; representing the library at system meetings; and developing and implementing adult programming including adult reading programs. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing print and online marketing materials; assembling content to promote the library in local news and media sources; and performing basic accounts payable functions in assistance to the Library Director.

The position is 40 hours per week and includes one evening per week and one Saturday every 4-6 weeks. The starting salary is $27.00 per hour, with full benefits and an optional 457 plan. Master of Library Science degree from an accredited program is required. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of public library experience, a strong customer service focus, solid written and verbal communication skills and a professional attitude.
