Adult Services Associate (Local History focus)

We are seeking a local history enthusiast to join us at Lincolnwood Library! The Adult Services Associate will specialize in the library’s local history collection and get assigned responsibilities and projects related to maintaining the physical and digital collections of photographs, newspapers, and other materials spanning the history of Lincolnwood. The role includes approximately 50% (or more depending on staffing needs) of public service desk work including helping patrons with technology (basic computer help, printing, scanning, faxing), readers advisory, and reference help. 

The successful candidate will be an independent worker who enjoys assisting the public and will appreciate taking a dive into the community’s history. Examples of assigned projects may include digitizing items, uploading digital files to various platforms, and curating displays featuring the physical items in the collection.

Associates degree or two years comparable experience. One year experience in a public library, archive, or historical society preferred.
