Adult Services Associate

The Northlake Public Library District is seeking a team member who is dedicated to excellence in service and is passionate about serving teens and adults in a diverse community.

Duties: This position will be primarily responsible for providing readers’ advisory for adult and teen patrons, and regularly working the reference desk; participating in the library’s presence on social media sites and generating marketing material; and providing assistance/instruction in use of online, digital and internet resources in one-on-one or group situations. Plans and presents adult programs, involved in library outreach, and assists in the maintenance of collections. Other duties may be assigned in response to the needs of the department.

The ideal candidate will be an outgoing positive self-starter with experience in prioritizing a variety of tasks, able to immediately be able to step into a fast paced environment, and is eager to cooperate with team members to support the library's mission.

Required Education & Experience:

• High School Degree required.
• Ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff and public.
• Fluent in Spanish, both orally and in writing.
