Job Summary

The Niles Public Library District is seeking a dedicated and professional Librarian Assistant to the Adult Services Supervisor. Under the supervision of the Adult Services Supervisor, you will provide exceptional library services, manage adult services programs, and support library operations.

Adult Services Assistant Supervisor will…

• Deliver outstanding service to patrons and staff, adhering to the Library’s mission.

• Select and maintain Adult Services materials, including print, audiovisual, and online resources.

• Coordinate and execute a variety of engaging programs for adult patrons.

• Provide Reference and Readers’ Advisory services at the public service desk, by phone, and electronically.

• Assist in the management and evaluation of Adult Services procedures and programs.

• Represent the Library at community events and participate in staff meetings and training.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.

• Strong organizational and reporting skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions.

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
