Adult Services Assistant (Library Technical Assistant II)

The Ridgefield Library seeks an energetic, creative, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and technology skills to begin year-round part-time employment as a Library Technical Assistant (LTA) II in our Adult Services Department.  This position is regularly scheduled for duty at the Adult Services public service desk; provides support for Adult Services Librarians; provides quality reader’s advisory and technology assistance to adults and teens; assists and instructs adults and teens in the use of Library resources and equipment; creates and maintains content on a variety of online platforms in support of Library services; and supports the successful operation of the Adult Services Department and the Library overall.

Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 40 pounds and ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 80 pounds on wheels.  Prior experience in a library a plus.  This is a non-benefitted position paying $18.60 per hour, scheduled for 19 hours per week on the following schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and from 10am-6pm on three Fridays per month.
