The Glen Ellyn Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented individual to join the Adult Department as a temporary Programming Librarian during a planned extended staff absence. This temporary position is expected to end March 29, 2025. 

The temporary adult programming librarian will facilitate a full slate of pre-planned adult programs and participate in planning, developing, and evaluating library programs and outreach to adults. Other duties include providing readers’ advisory and reference services at our busy information desk, assisting members with downloadable and streaming media, computers, study rooms, printing/copying, and voter registration. We are a collaborative and supportive workplace that embraces innovation while delivering excellent customer service to community members. Successful candidates will embrace technological innovation, enjoy connecting with books, movies, and music, have strong attention to detail, and have knowledge of and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. **Qualifications and Experience **

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its demonstrated equivalent experience will be considered. MLIS students are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of one year of successful work experience in a public contact position. 

**Hours: ** Full-time, 37.5 hrs per week. The schedule is flexible and may include daytime, evening, and weekend days by rotation.
