  • As the Logistics and Library Shelving Facility Team Lead, you will play a vital role within the Access Services Department of the Williams College Libraries. Along with a small but mighty team of 3, the Team Lead will work collaboratively with colleagues from the Libraries, Williams College Museum of Art, Facilities, and Campus Safety to ingest, move, store, and secure college resources housed in the libraries and the Library Shelving Facility (LSF).

Working with the Access Services Department Head, you will provide planning expertise and along with your team will be a full participant in the services provided any supported by the Access Services department including but not limited to: scanning, staffing service points, shifting, and deliveries.

Responsibilities:Provide leadership and serve as a motivator and go-to' resource for their team.

  • Coordinate the work of 1 full-time and 2 half-time staff.
  • Responsible for the careful and proper handling and storage of oftentimes rare, archival, and delicate library resources.
  • Ingest and store materials at the Library Shelving Facility (LSF), and provide timely retrieval, scanning, and delivery of requested materials between libraries and across campus.
  • Oversee the LSF facility and coordinate the staffing and daily operations of the Library Shipping & Receiving service point.Requirements:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent
  • 2 - 5 years related experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to lift and move loads of 40+ lbs
  • Must have OSHA Forklift certification, or be willing to obtain one within the first month of employment. Coursework and certification test will be provided by the College if needed.All applicants are requested to include a cover letter that describes related experiences, your ability to motivate a team, as well as applicable leadership and communication skills and experiences.

Application review will begin on March 28, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled. Pay range is from $24 to $27 per hour, commensurate with experience. The expected start date for this position is in mid-May.
