This position is a central component of FSU Libraries’ department of Access Services & Delivery, overseeing frontline services at Paul Dirac Science Library and The College of Engineering Library, while working alongside their peer managers and the Head of Access Services & Delivery in a highly collaborative and engaging managerial culture to innovate new library services, establish and achieve departmental goals, and steward our shared work culture.

Manage the daily operation of Scholar Support Desks at Paul Dirac Science Library the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering Library and the suite of services they offer.

Hire, supervise, and provide professional development for full time and part time staff.

Advise Head of Access Services & Delivery on existing circulation services at Dirac and Engineering.

Develop and implement qualitative assessment tools and strategies to advise the Head of Access Services & other library leadership on user experience of frontline services administered by ASD’s multiple Scholar Support Desks.

Lead Fine Management Services for FSU Libraries and oversee staff as they respond to scholar inquiries concerning incurred fines and fees associated with late, lost, or damaged materials.

Collaborate with ASD Management Team on updating, maintaining, and standardizing policies and procedures for frontline services, stewarding the Dirac and Engineering physical collections, and ensuring continuity of service across all Scholar Support Desks at FSU Libraries.

Collaborate with the ASD Management Team on implementing new and improving existing frontline services to increase access to library materials, resources, and spaces for all members of FSU Libraries’ served communities.

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to library services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Previous experience working in an administrative role in a public or academic library.

Masters of Library Science or comparable degree from an ALA accredited institution.

Experience managing staff and services in a library setting.

Experience with the integrated library management system, Alma.

Knowledge of software platforms associated with library work including the LibApps Suite, Request Tracker, ILLIAD, and OneSearch.

Experience working in an administrative environment.

Experience with FSU’s OMNI system, including Human Resources modules.

Experience with designing and implementing user focused library services.

Experience with designing and implementing qualitative assessment tools and associated platforms such as Qualtrix.

Hiring/recruiting experience; knowledge of hiring policies and procedures.
