We're looking for someone who:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helping patrons find materials and explore our collections
  • Assisting patrons with library technology
  • Leading and creating programs and activities for kids
  • Collaborating in library-wide programs and initiatives
  • Creating promotional materials in print and on social media
  • Managing social media content
  • Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree, MLIS degree (in progress or completed), or comparable education/experience preferred.
  • Public library or other customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in today's technologies and proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and work as a part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hand/finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer. Visual acuity to read fine print and numbers; aural acuity sufficient to understand speech both in-person and by phone. Ability to bend, reach and lift books weighing up to 10 lbs. Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
