Youth Services Outreach Librarian

**Primary Responsibilities **

• Plan and implement programs of interest to the community, with a focus on preschool, kindergarten, and outreach
• Provide reference and readers' advisory assistance
• Participate in the collection development process by maintaining budget, selecting, and weeding materials in assigned areas
• Provide instruction on the Library’s digital offerings and e-sources to patrons & staff
• Keep current on age appropriate materials for youth
• Create attractive and interesting displays and bibliographies
• Stay current regarding library technology and trends

Qualifications

• Master’s in Library Science 
• Experience working with children required
• Library experience in Youth Services preferred
• Ability to work with children in an individual and group setting
• Open-minded and flexible team player 

Salary/Classification/Hours

• $22.95 - $25.48/hour, depending on qualifications
• Full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hours/week
• Days, evenings, and weekends

**Physical Demands/Work Environment **

• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds
