View more recent job openings →Skokie Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Youth Services Manager to supervise Youth Services team members in providing and facilitating services for youth and families in the Skokie community. The Youth Services Manager works with, and under the supervision of, the Director of Public Services to coordinate programs, spaces, tools, and staff to facilitate learning and engagement for children from birth through grade five, as well as their parents and caregivers.

Selected Responsibilities:
Provide leadership through participation on library’s management team and supervision of Youth Services departmental staff
Hire, train, coach, and review performance of staff
Ensure a departmental climate that offers library patrons efficient, accurate, and courteous service
Collaborate with the Youth Services Supervisor to provide leadership to the youth services workgroup and to tie staff work to the organization’s mission and strategic priorities
Oversee and evaluate service models and operations for youth spaces, programming, and play opportunities and proactively seek out, recommend, and implement innovations in these areas in relation to total library services, the goals of other departments, and the needs of the community
Apply and integrate principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in youth services workflows, best practices, and services
Liaise with program coordinator to understand and implement program priorities, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of active and passive programs for youth and families
Support public service projects and initiatives

Multilingual skills in English plus another language relevant to the Skokie community, including, but not limited to, Arabic, Assyrian, Dari, Pashto, Spanish, and Urdu

The annual pay range for new hires in this position is $71,497 to $89,371. Offers are made within this range based on competencies, experience, and internal equity. Full pay grade range $71,497 to $107,245.
