Youth Services Library Aide

The Merrimack Public Library is looking for a positive team-player to work in our fast-paced Youth Services Department. The ideal candidate will have creative problem-solving skills and can be attentive to details while exhibiting a commitment to our library's mission. Duties include creating and leading innovative programs for children and teens in both an in-person and virtual environment; providing readers' advisory services and guidance in locating library materials; assisting patrons in the use of library computers and online services; and attending outreach events. Candidate must be age 18 or older. HS diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Competency in computer use including Microsoft Office products and internet searching required; familiarity of social media preferred. Prior library experience and/or customer service experience preferred. Experience working with children and teens and/or knowledge of children's and teen literature preferred. Artistic and creative skills are also desirable. MLIS students are encouraged to apply

$16.72/hour.
