Job Title: Youth Programming Librarian FLSA Status: Non-exempt Hours: Part time, averaging 25 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends required. Pay: $28.20/ hr. DOQ

The Prospect Heights Library District is looking for a collaborative and enthusiastic Youth Programming Librarian to join our Youth Services Department. This position is ideal for someone who is creative and unafraid to try new things. You will join a team of 7 dedicated Youth Services professionals. Major duties and responsibilities include:

1. Readers’ advisory and reference services to youth and caregivers;
2. Create and present monthly programs, with a focus on Youth in Grades K-5;
3. Collection development, including an ever-growing Graphic Novel Collection;
4. Outreach to schools and community events;
5. Serve as Person In Charge (PIC) as needed

QUALIFICATIONS: MLS or MLS in-progress preferred. Experience working with youth required. Customer service experience preferred. Bilingual in Polish, Spanish, Russian, or Ukrainian a plus.

As a part-time staff member, you will participate in IMRF and receive paid time off. You will be eligible for our dental insurance after one year.
