Technology Services Customer Support Librarian

As part of our Technology Services team, you will deliver high-quality training, responsive Helpdesk support, and other services to MVLC libraries. You’ll also contribute to maintaining and improving the systems and technologies that libraries rely on every day.

• Act as the go-to person for MVLC’s Helpdesk: coordinate requests, solve issues, and analyze trends to improve training and workflows.
• Update and maintain the online catalog (Enterprise OPAC) and mobile app for member libraries, ensuring they have accurate, up-to-date resources.
• Compile, analyze, and distribute key statistics and reports to support library operations.
• Troubleshoot basic technology issues (PCs, software, and peripherals) and work closely with other MVLC staff to find solutions.

The ideal candidate understands the needs of library patrons and the staff who serve them. You’ll be able to connect with library staff in a variety of roles to address questions, resolve issues, and deliver solutions. Excellent communication and organizational skills will be essential to assess member requests and involve the appropriate MVLC team members when needed. We’re looking for someone who:

•    Thrives on variety and loves learning new skills. •    Can communicate complex ideas for a diversely skilled audience. •    Brings a customer-service mindset and a collaborative approach. •    Has experience in public libraries, coupled with technical know-how like managing automated systems, databases, or Helpdesk coordination. •    An ALA-accredited MLS is preferred, but we will consider applications from candidates who possess the necessary skills and expertise to excel in this role. Health and dental insurance, retirement plan, paid vacation and other accrued time off. MVLC is a remote/hybrid workplace. Employees may elect to work up to 60% of their schedule remotely.  

Salary is $70,697 – $77,461 annually, on a four-step scale.
