Studio 411 - Library Associate 2 – Adult Library Services

Helen Plum Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join the Adult Library Services team in a part-time position working primarily in Studio 411, HPL’s makerspace. The right candidate will have experience working in libraries, or another public-facing role in a creative environment. Strong candidates will find joy working with others fostering a creative mindset within the Library community.

Responsibilities include:

• Creates and maintains an environment of continuous learning and exploration for Studio 411 users 

• Promoting a culture of creativity within the Library and Lombard community

• As part of a team approach, creates, develops, and presents programs in Studio 411

• Assist with appointments for patrons utilizing Studio 411

• Promoting Library services, programs, and resources

• Operating and helping maintain Studio 411 equipment

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or LTA

• Available to work on evenings and weekends

• Flexible approach to assisting patrons

• Willingness to learn new skills and approaches

• Strong computer and technology-based skills

• Ability to provide instructional based programming for patrons of all skill levels

• Experience with creative projects like sewing, knitting, quilting, 3D printing, laser cutting, audio production or any other creative projects related to crafts and the maker environment.

Preferred: Experience with audio production and/or 3D printing

Hours: 22.5 hours per week. 

Beginning salary: Starting Pay Range: $22.63-$28.29 per hour, depending on qualifications. $28.29 per hour is the midpoint of the pay grade. Starting at or above this rate is reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant relevant experience.
