Description

Reference Services:

-         Staffs reference desk and provides direct in-person and online reference assistance to patrons

-         Staffs reference desk on weekend day on rotating basis

-         Develops tutorials and guides

-         Develops and delivers legal research presentations on a variety of topics

-         Participates in the collection development process, emphasizing resources aligned with faculty research profiles.

-         Assists other law library and law school staff with concerns and/or questions

 
Faculty Liaison Responsibilities:

-         Manages and promotes library services to assigned law faculty.

-         Manages complex faculty research projects and reference requests.

-         Initiates and maintains regular contact with assigned law faculty to stay current on specific research and teaching interests.

-         Assists with other faculty requests as needed

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
1.    Master’s degree in library and information science 
2.    J.D. degree

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
1.    Strong service commitment
2.    Excellent communication skills
  
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.    Law library experience
2.    Familiarity with Innovative Interfaces integrated library system
3.    Knowledge of a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
