The Cornwall Public Library has an opening for a Part-time Librarian I. Responsibilities include working at our busy Adult Services reference desk, answering phones, assisting patrons, collection development, and other duties as assigned.

The position is for up to 16 hours per week, one evening (5-8) per week, at least one Saturday (8:45-4), and at least one Sunday (12:45-4) per month are required. The successful applicant(s) will enjoy working with the public, be able to work independently, prioritize workload, remain calm under pressure, be organized and detail-oriented, must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, good technology skills, understand the need for discretion and confidentiality when dealing with patron accounts, and have a flexible schedule that allows for irregular shift assignments and possible short-notice shift openings. Knowledge of symphony workflows or willingness to be trained is required.

Requirements: MLS and NYS Public Librarian Certificate. Ability to pass the Orange County Civil Service Librarian I exam.

Salary: $20.50-21.00/ hour
