The Project Support Specialist will support the expansion project of the NORDP Consultants Program (NSF # 2331578). Dedicated to increasing the diversity of the US national research ecosystem, the project provides research development services to sixteen minority-serving institutions (MSIs) at no cost to the institution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and provides project management support for a variety of projects which may involve financial administration, compiling and reviewing metrics, the upgrade of software systems, etc.
  • Develops and manages project time lines.
  • Works closely with project team/departments to identify and resolve concerns.
  • Assumes responsibility for timely delivery of project deliverables as scheduled.
  • Develops and maintains databases and reports.
  • Designs presentations in support of department's needs.
  • Tracks departmental budgets and forecasts future budget needs.
  • May plan and coordinates special events.
  • May maintain and update the departmental website.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

JOB DETAILS:

  • The Project Support Specialist will manage the curation and development of resources for the project's library; plan and coordinate quarterly and annual events; maintain and update the program's website and lead marketing and communication activities with key contacts; track the project's budget; and support research and evaluation project deliverables.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and three years of project, financial and/or administrative management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Access.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing an annual budget of $1M+.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with newsletters, marketing communications and disseminating research products.
  • Familiarity with the conduct of research and/or the research enterprise operations of institutions of higher education.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
