The Haledon Public Library, located in Passaic County and a member of PalsPlus, is looking for an organized, outgoing, and creative individual to join our staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.

• Experience working with children; public or school library experience very helpful;

• Enthusiastic and service oriented and enjoy working with children and adult patrons;

• Ability to effectively communicate and work as part of a team as well as be self-motivated.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Reports directly to Library Director and works closely regarding all aspects of programming.

• Responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising weekly programs, events, and Summer Reading.

• Assumes a leadership role; models a professional and conscientious work ethic.

• Organize and prepare seasonal, thematic, or subject specific crafts, displays, and decorations.

• Prepare and create program publicity and updates to the library website and social media.

• Oversee and assist circulation area with daily responsibilities as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

SCHEDULE: approximately 15 hours per week, including but not limited to Wednesday and Thursday evenings and occasional Saturdays.
