Part Time Weekend Supervisor (Temporary)

• Department Description: The Helen K. and James S. Copley Library, located on the west end of the campus, currently houses over 500,000 volumes. Collections include books, journals, reference works, databases, government documents, newspapers and electronic journals in many languages, as well as maps, videos, sound recordings, microforms and rare books.

Detailed Description: This is a part-time temporary, non-benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of May 23, 2025. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding.

Copley Library's Department of Collections, Access and Discovery seeks an energetic and enthusiastic Weekend Supervisor. The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for all access services while on duty and provides excellent customer service to faculty, students, and other library users while maintaining a professional, positive demeanor at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for all access services while on duty and provides excellent customer service to faculty, students, and other library users while maintaining a professional, positive demeanor at all times.Shelve books and assist with other services.

• Maintain a safe and quiet study environment in the library.
• Secure the building (including setting alarms) when closing.
• Follow and enforce all library policies.
• Work up to 15 hours per week (Saturday-Sunday).
• Report to the Head of Access and Outreach Services.Special Conditions of Employment:
• Saturday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, and Sunday 11:30 am - 7:30 pm. Must be able to work alternative weekend hours for two weeks each semester during our 24/7 study period and be flexible to accommodate abbreviated hours of operation during the summer.Background check: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Degree Verification Requirement: Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.Performance Expectations - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Punctual and reliable attendance.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and email.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn an automated library system to loan items and execute service related tasks.Posting Salary: $17.99 - $18.00 per hour

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
