Summary of Position

Library Services at Red Rocks Community College is seeking a Library Instruction Assistant to teach library instruction sessions, assist with research support, contribute to access services, and support special projects at both the Lakewood and Arvada campuses. This position is available exclusively for Library Science Graduate Students and reports to the Instruction Librarian. The role is flexible, with a work schedule within the posted library hours (Monday-Friday). The position is a part-time, FLSA non exempt temporary staff position. The position offers up to 28 hours per week for a duration of up to 9 months, based on need and budget availability.

The successful candidate will possess and be at ease with the following:Strong Communication Skills - Ability to teach, assist with research, and effectively collaborate with diverse student and faculty populations. 2. Attention to Detail - Proficiency in managing instructional materials, research guides, and library operations. 3. Adaptability - Flexibility to engage with various projects and changing priorities in a dynamic library environment.Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Coursework or professional experience in library instruction
  • Coursework or professional experience in library reference
  • Coursework or professional experience in processing library materials
  • Coursework or professional experience in health sciences
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Experience generating posts and editing social media content in a professional capacity
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation
  • Experience with event planning and management
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with and supporting students from diverse populations, which may include but are not limited to, historically marginalized populations such as people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, veterans, first generation graduates, and people with disabilities.Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be currently enrolled in a library & information science graduate degree program.Physical and Cognitive Demands: The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position:
  • Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Advertised Hourly Pay The hourly pay for this position is $22.79, commensurate with education and experience. This is a part-time, FLSA non-exempt temporary staff position. This position may work up to 28 hours each week, depending on need and budget availability. This position can work up to nine months, based on need and budget availability. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
