Library Assistant

The Town of Upton seeks to fill the part-time Library Assistant position.

Reporting to the Library Director at the new state-of-the-art Upton Community Center, you will be responsible for assisting patrons with library transactions, responding to patron requests, and preparing library materials.

The Upton Town Library serves a community of approximately 8,000 residents. The library is located in the newly constructed Community Center and serves a diverse population including parents, children and teenagers. We are a C/WMARS mini-net member and certified for State Aid.

Starting schedule will include evening shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2:30pm-8pm, and alternating Saturdays 9am to 4pm.  

Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or GED and one year of related experience in customer service or retail, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred; Library system computer applications; excellent oral and written communication skills; physical ability to occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
