The Berwyn Public Library is seeking a creative, flexible, and forward-thinking self-starter who is excited about serving a diverse community of teens both in and out of the library.

The Teen Library Assistant will work with the Adult Services Manager to develop dynamic and varied programs for high school age teens, market library programs and services, and provide readers advisory and reference assistance.  They will connect with community partners, bring library services to teens outside the library through outreach, and help supervise an always-evolving group of high school volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be motivated to try new things, adaptable to changes in the workplace, and able to learn from unsuccessful efforts to create even better services. They will appreciate a challenge, and be looking for innovative ways to serve teens and bring library services to new populations.  A successful Teen Library Assistant will be customer-service oriented and enjoy working cooperatively to ensure equitable access to library services for all teens. The best fit for this position will be someone who enjoys listening to, laughing with, and learning from teens.

**Requirements: **

-Customer service experience

-Familiarity with teen services and trends

-Familiarity with teen literature and trends

-Experience with computers and personal devices

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

-Experience working with teens

-Ability to communicate in Spanish
