Library Assistant: Â Adult Programming & Social Media Plus Borrower Services Support
Position Overview:
This position is especially responsible for Adult Programming for the Adult patrons in our community, i.e. the development and promotion of said programs, such as book groups, crafts, & Fiber Friends. The Assistant will also maintain the library’s social media accounts which is a tool in promotion. This position is supervised by the Director who has the final say. Proofreading is essential!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Library Assistant will complete duties within the categories of Programming, Marketing, Social Media, & Borrower Services as a support at the Circulation desk, i.e. CKI & CKO in Koha.
Programming & Outreach:
Plan, develop, conduct, & evaluate a variety of innovative & engaging programs & services for adults.
Ensure that programs address diverse interests and respond to the needs of the community.
Collaborate with Director & Youth Services Librarian as well as other staff to enhance service and program offerings.
Marketing:
Create flyers and registration sheets for all adult programs. Â Distribute in the community. Â Collaborate with Director for local advertising, i.e. Bargain Buyer weekly. Â Keep information current per social media accounts.
Other:Â Assist patrons to use various technologies, if possible. Examples are mobile phones, tablets, and pcs.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications Education, Training and Experience:
BA or some college highly desired.
Experience in a public library setting preferred.
Experience in program development, marketing and community outreach desired.
This is a part-time 20-hour per week position. Included benefits are earned vacation and holiday time. Â Position open until filled.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications
