The Longmeadow Storrs Library is seeking a PT Library Administrative Assistant: 19 hours per week. The position is responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and financial support to Library department, staff, and Library Director.

Successful candidate must have:

  • Knowledge of relevant Massachusetts General Laws related to essential functions. Knowledge of general practices of an office and customer service environment. 

  • Ability to multi-task and manage conflict. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain good public relations and to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with Town departments, department heads, fellow employees, officials and the general public and to respond in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Ability to learn new software as needed.

  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills and customer service skills. Proficient in use of computer programs including Microsoft Office and Google Suites, email and internet and website maintenance. Position requires proficiency with Word and Excel. 

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 3 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience. Budget experience preferred.
