The Community Branch Services Library Assistant is a paraprofessional position, reporting to the Community Branch Services Supervisor and under the overall direction of the Deputy Director for Adult Services. This position assists with the daily operations of assigned branch libraries; coordinates and performs circulation activities; provides exemplary customer service to patrons; acts as a liaison with the Main Library Circulation Department and C/W MARS; and supervises operations in the Community Branch Services Supervisor’s absence. Work will include evenings, weekends and assignments in other departments, locations and Mobile services vehicle.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         One (1) year of community public service work, such as library, day care center, book store, or equivalent 

·         Ability to successfully pass CORI/SORI

·         Reliable transportation to travel between required locations

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

·         One (1) year of supervisory experience in a youth setting

·         One (1) year of customer service experience
