Position Highlights

The Library team at the College of Medicine - Phoenix invites applicants to apply for a rewarding career on a growing health sciences campus. The Health Sciences Librarian provides research consultation, instructional outreach, and content development services in support of the students, staff, and faculty of the college. The Health Sciences Librarian functions as part of a team of librarians and library service associates serving the information needs of a shared use library.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists students, staff, and faculty with information retrieval and literatures searches.
• Provides consultations for medical students as part of their required scholarly projects.
• Delivers engaging instruction to students, emphasizing searching skills, finding quality evidence, critical appraisal of resources, and information management.
• Develops workshops and video tutorials on searching, publishing, information management and other topics of interest to the COM-P Community.
• Partners with COM-P librarian and faculty to develop innovative programs and services.
• Develops and creates LibGuides on various health topics that support the curriculum.
• Consults and collaborates with faculty and staff in support of research and scholarly publishing.
• Actively contributes to the library profession through research, service, and scholarship
• Provides supplemental front desk coverage during occasional staff absences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of MESH subject headings and PICO searching.
• Knowledge with citation management and analysis tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science.
• Experience with Pubmed and other online information resources in health sciences.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
