Job Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to oversee collections strategy at our world-class research and teaching institution. The Director of Collections Strategy provides leadership and direction for the UW-Madison Libraries collection development and e-resources licensing. This position collaborates with library staff from across campus and at other institutions to facilitate access to information resources in support of the university's teaching, research, and service missions. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Collections. The Director of Collections Strategy supervises two full-time academic staff members and one full-time university staff member.Responsibilities:
Directs or serves as a member of library senior leadership, overseeing a portfolio which may contain one or more libraries or units. Leads or participates in the strategic planning and implementation of policies, procedures, and major initiatives. Directs decisions which have a long-term and measurable impact on operations and solves problems which are complex, strategic, and multi-faceted.
