  • Position Description Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operations and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgement.

Major/Essential FunctionsOversees the departments: Libraries Human Resources, Library Building Services and Inventory, and Library Business Operations.

  • Oversees for Library facilities - physical appearance, upkeep, and maintenance. Includes Library off site, fleet, mail, special projects, and events. Includes Libraries inventory.
  • Plans and prepares the libraries' budgets under the direction of the Dean.
  • Coordinates and oversees purchase and payment of all items for the libraries.
  • Oversees payroll for Libraries salaried employees. Includes tracking and reporting.
  • Assists with Library statistics - including book count, microfiche count, and government documents count.
  • Assists with statistical reporting for Libraries, i.e. ARL, IPEDS. Works in conjunction as necessary with other University departments to retrieve, reconcile, and submit data for multiple departments across campus.
  • Provides information as needed to Institutional Advancement.
  • Monitors all Library funds and maintains the accounting system for the University Library and SWC/SCL.
  • Analyze ledgers and prepare monthly/annual reports on all expenses and income.
  • Oversees deposits and cash control issues within the libraries.
  • Oversees Libraries Staff HR - prepare job postings in Kenexa, process and approve ePAFs, and coordinating and assistant with searches for faculty and staff positions.
  • Responsible for the Libraries payroll functions for student assistants, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
  • Works with staff on EEO compliance, New Employee Orientation, and annual performance evaluations.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications Experience using the TTU budgeting, payroll, accounting, and inventory systems.

Minimum Hire Rate 4352.42
